Sony Ericsson MBW-100

Sony Ericsson Logo

Sony Ericsson are soon to release their Bluetoothâ„¢ Watch MBW-100. The watch is actually made by Fossil, but with Sony Ericsson branding. Below the analog hands (minute and hour only, no second hand) is a one-line, 96- by 16-pixel OLED display. The watch hooks up to Sony Ericsson phones via Bluetooth. (A client for Symbian Series 60 phones such as the Nokia N80 is also coming, according to Fossil.) All you have to do is press a few buttons and the gadget auto-pairs.

The watch vibrates when it detects an incoming call, displaying the name or number of the caller on the OLED display. Notifications of incoming text messages are displayed, too. Incoming calls can be muted or rejected by pressing keys on the watch, and tracks can also be played or skipped on the phone’s music player. The watch gives a warning vibration if you walk out of range of your handset. (Sony Ericsson, 2006)

The MBW-100 will be available in black or silver, and weighs in at 187.5 gr / 6.6 oz. The watch is also expected to retail for around US$400.
