Valve has Discontinued their Steam Link HardwareÂ
Valve’s Steam Link streaming solution has evolved a lot over the years, moving from its dedicated hardware solution to become an app that is available on Samsung Televisions, PCs and Android devices.Â
With the Steam Link app being available for free on Android, there is now little reason to purchase a new Steam Link device, outside of the latency benefits of using a wired ethernet connection over WiFi signals. Valve has discontinued their Steam Link box, but that won’t spell the end for the hardware and its ecosystem, with Valve planning to continue supporting the device while continuing work on Steam Link’s software releases. Â
