Watch 2023’s The Game Awards here

Expect to see many new game reveals and trailers at this year’s The Game Awards

The Game Awards will be streamed today at 7:30 pm ET, 4:30 pm PT, and 12:30 am GMT.. This makes this year’s awards ceremony an awkward watch for gamers in the UK. Even so,  TGA is always an event of interest. Thanks to its smattering of game reveals, new trailers, world premieres, and the performances of TGA Orchestra, it is an event that is well worth watching, be it live or otherwise.

The Game Awards is also a place where the achievements of game developers are celebrated. Be it AAA development teams or smaller indie studios, all areas of the industry are given their due. While The Game Awards may not be as well known as The Oscars, there is no doubt that winning one a TGA Award is a major achievement for any studio, developer, voice actor, or publisher.

Microsoft has stated that there will be “important announcements and other Xbox news” at the event. Currently, it is unknown what these announcements are. That said, we expect to see new Game Pass announcements and perhaps some new game reveals.

Microsoft has used The Game Awards to make major gaming announcements in the past. TGA 2019 was host to the Xbox Series X’s reveal. 2021’s Awards showcased the power of Xbox Series consoles with a Hellblade II. Perhaps we will see an expansion for Starfield this year? Maybe the integration of Activision Blizzard games into Game Pass?

As usual, gamers should expect several new game reveals and updates tonight. Gamers can also expect heightened security, as the events organisers want to avoid stage invasions and other antics this year.
