Powerful, Compact, Quiet – Noctua unveils its Seasonic Prime PX HPD Noctua Edition power supply
Noctua has just unveiled its second Noctua Edition power supply, and it is compact
Noctua has partnered with Seasonic to create a new “Noctua Edition” version of its upcoming Prime PX HPD power supply. These new PSUs will be 125 mm long and available in 850W, 1000W, and 1200W forms. This PSU will be significantly smaller than Seasonic’s PRIME TX-1600 Noctua Edition PSU.
Noctua aims to make its PSU variants quieter than Seasonic’s standard designs. It will achieve this with a custom fan grille and the company’s new NF-A12x25 G2 series fans.
This new PSU is designed to be semi-passive. This means that the PSU’s fan will be turned off during low loads. This will make the PSU virtually silent during regular loads. Under high loads, Noctua’s optimisations will ensure that these new PRIME PX HPD PSUs remain quiet.
With the Seasonic Prime PX HPD Noctua Edition, Seasonic aims for high power density (hence HPD) while Noctua aims to keep noise levels in check. This fully modular power supply is due to be released in Q2 2026 and feature an 80+ Platinum efficiency level.
