Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds is easily 2019’s most highly anticipated RPG, bringing players into a world that was designed by the studio behind Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2, Fallout New Vegas, South Park The Stick of Truth & Pillars of Eternity.

Now, The Outer Worlds is less than three months away from release, coming to PC via the Microsoft Store (both standalone and via Xbox Game Pass for PC) and via the Epic Games Store on October 25th. The game is also releasing on console platforms, including the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

Thanks to PC Gamer, 60 minutes of new gameplay footage for The Outer Worlds has been released. This gameplay includes combat, conversations with NPCs and plenty of exploration. The Outer Worlds is built using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4. The gameplay below comes from an in-development build of The Outer Worlds, which means that the game could change before launch.

The Outer Worlds is a new single-player first-person sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division.

Lost in transit while on a colonist ship bound for the furthest edge of the galaxy, you awake decades later only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy the Halcyon colony. As you explore the furthest reaches of space and encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.
