ASUS accidentally confirms Nvidia’s 20GB RTX 3080 Ti

Thanks to a listing on ASUS’ support website (thanks @9550pro) we have confirmation that RTX 3080 Ti Strix graphics cards are in the works, both of which feature 20GB of GDDR6X VRAM.

ASUS has since removed their RTX 3080 Ti Strix and Strix OC listings from their support website, but that has not stopped screenshots of their listing being taken and recorded by hardware enthusiasts.

According to ASUS’ listing, Nvidia’s RTX 3080 Ti will feature 20GB of GDDR6X memory, offering gamers more memory than AMD’s 16GB RX 6900 XT and less memory than Nvidia’s 24GB RTX 3090. The RTX 3080 Ti will feature the same 320-bit memory bus as Nvidia’s existing RTX 3080, though it is possible that RTX 3080 Ti GPUs will offer gamers more memory bandwidth through the use of higher bandwidth GDDR6X memory.

Nvidia’s RTX 3080 Ti should offer gamers a CUDA core count that sits somewhere between the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 and feature a lower TDP than the RTX 3090. This will allow Nvidia to fully counter AMD’s RX 6900 XT sometime in early 2021.
