ASUS plans to push 300Hz with their latest gaming notebooks

Forget 240Hz notebook’s that’s soo last gen. 300Hz is the new hotness, at least according to the techno boffins over at ASUS’ ROG division. Esports players desire the highest framerates and the fastest monitors, and that means that higher refresh rates are a must.

With their upcoming 17-inch ROG Zephyrus GX701, ASUS plans to offer gamers screens with a 300Hz refresh rate and a 3ms GtG response time. At 300Hz, this screen can draw a new frame every 3.3ms, almost as fast as the screen’s response time.

With their ROG Zephyrus GX701, ASUS plans to offer gamers the power of Nvidia’s RTX 2080 graphics alongside an Intel 9th Generation i7 processor. This system will release in October, though more notebooks with 300Hz displays are due in 2020. Prototypes of 300Hz ROG Zephyrus GX502 and 15/17-inch Strix SCAR III are currently being shown at IFA.

ASUS has also confirmed that these 300Hz screens are G-Sync Compatible.
