Avalanche’s Generation Zero Gains a Release Date and PC System Requirements

Avalanche Studios has announced that their open-world sci-fi co-op shooter, Generation Zero, will release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on March 26th.

Generation Zero will be Avalanche’s first self-published title, shipping for £29.99 on PC, via Steam, while offering players hostile open world where powerful machines threaten to tear players limb from limb.

The game takes place in 1980’s Sweden, where 1-4 players return from their travels offshore to find their town abandoned, leaving them to scavenge to survive as they work to unravel the mystery behind the disappearance of the local population.

Avalanche promises to render their open world with high levels of detail, confronting players with “unpredictable” weather, complex enemy AI and highly realistic audio. More information about the game is available in the trailer below.

Alongside the game’s March 26th release date, the game’s PC system requirements have popped up on Steam, revealing modest requirements when compared to Just Cause 4, the studio’s most recent game release.

The game will require a minimum if a quad-core Intel Core i5 processor while recommending an i7 processor, though the failure of Avalanche to cite a specific model seems to indicate that even 1st Generation Intel Core processors will hit the mark for Generation Zero. On the GPU-side a Geforce GTX 660 and a Radeon HD 7870 (with 2GB of VRAM) are set at the game’s minimum GPU requirements, with the developers recommending a Geforce GTXC 960 or an RX 280 with 4GB of VRAM.
