Celeste and Inside are now available for free on PC

For the next week, both Celeste and Inside will be available for free on PC, granting PC gamers access to two highly reviewed platforming titles. Both of these games are now available for free via the Epic Games Store.

Like previous weeks, Epic Games is giving away two games due to the adult themes of Inside. Celeste, being a PEGI 7 title, it suitable for almost all gamers, while Inside has a mature rating. Epic Games plans to ensure that all gamers can get access to a free game on its storefront during 2019, which means that PC gamers will often receive two free games per week instead of one.

Inside is a puzzle-platformer from Playdead, which acts as a spiritual successor to 2010’s Limbo, offering players similar 2.5D gameplay, a new graphical style and a dark story. Celeste is also a platforming title, coming from Matt Makes Games to deliver a pixel-art graphics and the story of a young girl who ascends the Celeste mountain. This game is a lot more light-hearted than Inside and received mostly positive reviews. Celeste won an award for “Best Independent Game” at 2018’s The Game Awards.

Next week, on September 5th, the Epic Games Store plans to offer PC gamers free copies of both ABZU and The End is High.
