Crysis Remastered Trilogy joins GOG with OG Crysis becoming a “preserved” game
GOG has added Crysis to its GOG Preservation Program and the Crysis Remastered Trilogy to its catalog
The Crysis Remastered Trilogy is now available DRM-free through GOG. Now, remastered versions of the three main Crysis games are available through GOG. Additionally, Crysis’ original PC version has become part of the GOG Preservation Program.
Like all games on the GOG Preservation Program, GOG has committed to maintaining and enhancing the original PC version of Crysis. They guarantee that the game will be compatible with modern systems, even if the game’s original developers cease updating it. That means GOG will ensure that Crysis remains playable on new versions of Windows and provide technical support to players. By doing this, GOG has committed itself to being the best place to play classic PC games.
Thanks to GOG’s lack of DRM, PC gamers can download the game and use it without restrictions. There are no servers to authenticate the game or any other annoyances. Gamers are free to use their games however they wish. So long as you have your games backed up, you can play them forever. Even if GOG closes down, your games will remain playable.
