Cyberpunk 2077’s patch 2.3 has been delayed to “make sure we’re happy with it”

CD Projekt Red has announced that update 2.3 for Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed. Initially, the studio hoped to release the update on June 26th. The game’s developers have stated that they “need some more time to make sure we’re happy with it,” signalling that the update may need some bug fixes or other changes ahead of launch.

As part of their update on patch 2.3, CD Projekt Red confirmed that the update would have “a scope similar to update 2.2.” This update contained bug fixes, new features, an overhauled photo mode, and technological improvements on PC. Unfortunately, CD Project Red has not unveiled what’s changing with Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.3.

One highly sought-after update for Cyberpunk 2077 is the addition of PlayStation 5 Pro support. Currently, Cyberpunk 2077 lacks support for Sony’s upgraded console, which means that the game runs in standard PS5 mode. If CDPR delivers PS5 Pro support, Cyberpunk 2077 could run at higher resolutions on Sony’s Pro console and (potentially) benefit from Sony’s PSSR AI upscaling solution. Note that another sought-after update would be the addition of FSR 4 support on PC, giving users of AMD RDNA 4 GPUs access to AI upscaling.

Update 2.3 is expected to be the last major update for Cyberpunk 2077. Note that while CD Project Red may release further bug-fixing updates, gamers should expect no new DLC or content updates. Following the release of update 2.3, Cyberpunk 2077’s development is effectively over.
