For today only, Defense Grid: The Awakening is available for free on the Epic Games Store, giving Windows PC gamers access to a highly rated tower defence title. 

Defense Grid: The Awakening is a well-reviewed title on Steam, featuring “Overwhelmingly Positive” reviews on the platform. The game features 20 unique levels and promises to deliver around 8 hours of tower defence gameplay. Being a game from 2008, this title can run well on almost any modern PC, making this an excellent title to play over Christmas on any system. If you are away from your main PC while you are visiting family, this may be the game for you.

Epic Games are offering PC users “15 days of free games”, offering a free game every 24 hours until January 1st. Yesterday’s free game was The Long Dark and a new free game is due to be revealed tomorrow at 4 PM GMT.
