DONTNOD partners with Epic Games to distribute Twin Mirror on PC

These deals will allow DONTNOD to acquire the rights to Twin Mirror’s IP and ensure an “advantageous distribution of revenues” for the company. Bandai Namco will remain as the game’s publisher on consoles, but on PC, the game will be distributed exclusively on the Epic Games Store for 12 months. 

With the rights to Twin Mirror secured, DONTNOD has successfully strengthened their IP portfolio while simultaneously securing them a favourable revenue distribution on the PC platform. DONTNOD has also opted to move Twin Mirror’s release date to 2020, with DONTNOD hoping that this extra time will allow them and Shibuya Productions to create a better game for both PC and console players.

Below is the first gameplay trailer for Twin Mirror, showcasing protagonist Sam Hayes and his alter ego “The Double”, who will act as “an occasional advisor and permanent wise-ass” throughout the game. Sam’s double represents Sam’s lack of confidence and his instinct for self-preservation. 

The trailer also showcases some of Twin Mirror’s investigations mechanics as well as the game’s “mind palace” mechanic, an area which is accessible anywhere in-game and can be used to help piece together information and reconstruct past events.
