DOOM Eternal’s E3 trailer has been remade in DOOM II

If you are a fan of classic first-person shooters, DOOM Eternal was the game to watch at E3 2019, with Bethesda confirming that the game would arrive on PC, Xbox One PS4, Nintendo Switch and Stadia on November 22nd 2019. 
   
id Software’s “story trailer” for DOOM was filled with fast-paced action, all sorts of demonic creatures and some of the most violent combat that’s available within modern games. But what is this trailer was available within DOOM II? 

YouTube user Szczebrzeszyniarz Brzeczyszczyczmoszyski (SB) has recreated DOOM Eternal’s E3 Story trailer within what appears to mostly be the DOOM II engine, having utilised custom WADS, maps and other alterations to create a unique, but incredibly faithful, version of DOOM Eternal’s trailer. 

This remade trailer is available to watch below, but a “side-by-side comparison of the original and DOOM II versions of the trailer being available to view here. 

At E3 2019 it was also confirmed that DOOM Eternal would support ray tracing on PC, though at this time it is unknown how this fast-paced shooter will utilise today’s ray tracing hardware.
