DOOM: The Dark Ages wows with its second trailer

id Software releases its second trailer for DOOM: The Dark Ages

DOOM: The Dark Ages is coming to PC and consoles next month on May 15th, and the game looks incredible. The entire trailer is made up of “in-game” footage, highlighting the incredible visuals of id Software’s latest FPS.

The Dark Ages is id Software’s first current-gen only game. As such, it is the first that can fully make use of the power of current-generation PCs and consoles. The game makes use of ray tracing and other advanced effects while maintaining solid 60 FPS framerates.

This new DOOM game is a prequel to DOOM (2016) and DOOM: Eternal. It takes place in a Medieval-style part of the DOOM timeline and includes a shield, a parry system, and a flyable dragon. While the game will play differently from its predecessors, it is certainly a DOOM game at its core.

Developed by id Software, DOOM: The Dark Ages is the prequel to the critically acclaimed DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal that tells an epic cinematic story worthy of the DOOM Slayer’s legend. In this third installment of the modern DOOM series, players will step into the blood-stained boots of the DOOM Slayer, in this never-before-seen dark and sinister medieval war against Hell.

On PC, this game will feature a path-tracing mode, allowing gamers with high-end hardware to play this game with visuals that surpass the capabilities of today’s consoles. Full PC system requirements for the game are available here.
