Dying Light: The Beast launches with AMD FSR 4 support
Dying Light: The Beast is one of the first games to launch with day-1 FSR 4 support
Dying Light: The Beast is now available on PC, and on day 1, the game supports AMD’s FSR 4 upscaling technology. When we loaded into the game, FSR 4 was available. In fact, gamers with compatible hardware can choose which version of FSR they want to use, be it FSR 2, FSR 3, or FSR 4 (4.02 specifically). There is even an option to let AMD’s drivers select a version of FSR. This enables AMD’s drivers to update games to the latest version of AMD’s FSR Super Resolution technology.
Based on what we have seen, we believe that Dying Light: The Beast may be the first game to launch with AMD’s FidelityFX SDK 2.0 release. This SDK supports FSR 4.02 and is compatible with AMD’s “FSR 4 Upgrade” feature. Moving forward, we expect more new games to launch with FSR 4 support.
AMD has fixed one of FSR 4’s biggest problems
Until recently, AMD FSR 4 was only available through AMD’s “FSR 4 Upgrade” feature. This allowed games with compatible FSR 3.1 DLLs to be upgraded to FSR 4 using AMD’s drivers. With AMD Software 25.9.1, this upgrade became automatic for compatible DirectX 12 games with signed AMD FSR 3.1 DLLs. Previously, AMD’s “FSR 4 Upgrade” feature was only available for whitelisted games. This prevented many FSR 3.1 games from supporting FSR 4 on day-1.
AMD’s FidelityFX SDK 2.0 now allows game developers to directly integrate FSR 4 support into their games. When combined with AMD’s 25.9.1 (and newer) drivers, AMD has greatly expanded FSR 4 game support. Additionally, it increases the chance that newly release games will support FSR 4 on day 1.

Hopefully, Dying Light: The Beast will be the first of many games to directly support AMD’s FSR 4 upscaler on day 1. If you plan on playing this game, you should install AMD Software 25.9.2 if you own a Radeon GPU. This driver is optimised for Dying Light: The Beast.
