Fallout 76 will gain NPCs and a new main quest with Wastelanders update

Bethesda has confirmed that Fallout 76 will receive NPCs, a new main quest, dialogue trees and consequence causing decision making this fall as part of the game’s free Wastelanders update.

With this update, Wastelanders will return to Appalachia as part of the game’s Settlers and Raiders factions, enabling players to interact with both groups, complete quests and play through unique stories for each side.

Both factions will present players with unique companions, and a wide selection of new weapons and armour types to earn. In addition to this, a new battle royale game mode is also coming to Fallout 76 called Nuclear Winter. This game mode offers players 52-player PVP, where the last player standing becomes the overseer of vault 51.

Wastelanders is a massive free update to Fallout 76 that fundamentally changes the Wasteland, coming Fall 2019. One year after the opening of Vault 76, other humans have returned to Appalachia. Factions of Settlers and Raiders aim to make the world their own and claim a rumored fortune. Embark on a new main quest of choice and consequence, interact with characters and their unique stories, discover the faction settlements of Crater and Foundation, and collect powerful new weapons and armor. Your choices decide their fates.
