Fire crews rush to Rockstar North following “explosion”
Rockstar North suffers “explosion”
In the early hours of this morning, an “explosion” was reported at Rockstar North, prompting emergency services to respond. Reports claim that the Police cordoned off the area while the Fire and Rescue services worked inside the building. Rockstar North’s offices are located on the Holyrood Road in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Fire crews left the scene at 9.21 am this morning, reporting that there were “no casualties”. While the source of the explosion has not been revealed, Edinburgh Live claims that an “explosion in a boiler room” may be the cause.
We were alerted at 5.02am on Monday, January 19, to attend an incident on Holyrood Road, Edinburgh.
Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and specialist resources to the scene, where firefighters worked to secure structural damage at a commercial building.
There were no reported casualties and crews left the scene at 9.21am.

Rockstar North is the developer behind the Grand Theft Auto series. At the time, Rockstar North was known as DMA Design, with DMA Design creating Grand Theft Auto, Grand Theft Auto 2, and Grand Theft Auto III. As Rockstar North, the studio also created all mainline Grand Theft Auto games until Grand Theft Auto V. Note that Grand Theft Auto 6 is in development with multiple studios under Rockstar Games. This includes Rockstar North.
Rockstar Noth’s offices are expected to remain closed today. It is currently unknown if this event will impact the release of Grand Theft Auto IV.
