Eidos Montreal has released the first fifteen minutes of Shadow of the Tomb Raider, showcasing the opening of Lara Croft’s upcoming adventure, which is set to release on PC, Xbox One and PS4 simultaneously on September 14th.

The footage below comes via IGN First, showcasing the game at 4K. At this time it is unknown whether or not this footage comes from the PC or Xbox One X version of the game. The footage plays at 30FPS, suggesting that this footage is from the game’s console version.

This footage showcases a beautiful city scene within the game, revealing incredible levels of graphical detail, especially when it comes to lighting. Sadly, this footage does not contain any combat scenes, though sneaking through the cityscape gives this entry in the series more of an “Uncharted” feel than previous entries.

Nvidia has confirmed that they will be working with Eidos Montreal on the PC version fo Shadow of the Tomb Raider, with the game’s previous entry, Rise of the Tomb Raider, offering an interesting implementation of DirectX 12 support, which was updated on several occasion to deliver enhanced performance on both AMD and Geforce hardware. Sadly, a combination of game and driver updates has left the game’s DirectX 12 mode unstable on some hardware configurations.
