Fortnite Chapter 2 has launched and is now playable

Fortnite as we knew it is gone. It was sucked into a black hole, never to be seen again. Now Fortnite Chapter 2 is here, releasing with a new map, new features and support for the same gaming platforms as the original. These platforms include PC (Windows and macOS), Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android.

Yes, Fortnite is playable once again, and this time players will be dropped into a new world, complete with 13 new locations and gameplay mechanics to utilise.

For starters, boats, swimming and fishing have been added to Fortnite, forever changing the gameplay of watery regions. With this, map traversal changes, and vehicle-mounted weapons will grant players even more options when it comes to attacking their opponents.

Gamers can now hide in haystacks/dumpsters and blow up gas tanks/explosive barrels to help get the drop on opponents. With this, gamers will be able to utilise their environment to their advantage, adding an extra tactical element into Fortnite’s gameplay loop.

Players can also expect alterations to Fortnite’s combat system, alterations to weapons and several additions to their arsenal. Teammates will be able to utilise new tools like the bandage bazooka, carry fallen teammates to safety and utilise new emotes when outside of combat.

With Fortnite Chapter 2 comes a new Battle Pass and a different XP system. Like the original game, 100 players will fight for dominance of the map, where the last person, or team, standing is the victor.

Fortnite Chapter 2 has launched with the same PC system requirements as Fortnite, suggesting that no major graphical changes have come to the game’s PC version.
