Frontier developments has acquired a Hollywood movie license to create a new game
Frontier developments, the developer behind both Elite Dangerous and Planet Coaster, has now acquired a Hollywood movie license, which will allow them to create a new game that is based on an “enduring franchise of global renown”.
Right now Frontier Developments has not released any information about what movie franchise that the developer will be working with, though the company does state that the franchise already has a “worldwide profile” and is a “perfect match for our (Frontier’s) Expertise”. We have chosen to license this particular IP to work with as our third franchise, because we believe we can create something very special. It is creatively stimulating, already has a high worldwide profile, and is a perfect match for our expertise.
At this time it is unknown what this new movie-based game will be, though this news has already increased the share price of Frontier Developments by 3.2%.
