Fuel Is Named Biggest Console Game Of All Time

The fast paced revolutionary new racing game Fuel, brought to you by Codemasters, publishers of the much loved Colin McRae series, has just set a new world record verified by Guinness World Records and ready for inclusion in the next print of the Guinness World Records Gamers Edition Guide.

Asobo Studio has managed to pull off an awe-inspiring 5,560 square miles playable environment larger than Hong Kong, Singapore, St Lucia and the Isle of Man put together. To put this into perspective, it would take approximately 3 hours to travel from one side of the map to the other should you get a sudden urge to do so. Yes, it really is that big.

The certificate awarded to Codemasters and Asobo Studio by Guinness Records reads:

“Largest playable area in a console game: The largest playable environment in a console game is 5,560 sq mi (14,400 km²), and is featured in FUEL (Codemasters, 2009). The area features rivers, deserts, forests and mountains and was demonstrated at the offices of Guinness World Records, London, UK, on 20 May 2009.”
