GOG started its life as Good Old Games, a company that restored the functionality of classic PC titles. Through the company, gamers can download classic PC titles and know that they will be playable on the latest Windows OS’ and be free from DRM.

In late 2020, GOG added several classic Konami games to its storefront, Metal Gear, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance and Konami Collector’s Series: Castlevania and Contra to their storefront. Later, GOG would add Silent Hill 4: The Room to this list.

Today, GOG announced that they have updated all of these titles with support for modern gamepads. Additionally, GOG announced that these games have been updated with optimised key bindings and other smaller fixes to improve their playability.

As of now, modern gamepads like the Sony DualSense, Sony DualShock 4, Microsoft/s Xbox One/Xbox X/S, and Nintendo Switch Pro controllers can all be used to play these classic Konami titles. To celebrate, all of these games are now available with a 20% discount on GOG

Note that these games are re-releases, not remasters. Do not expect to see high-resolution textures or other upgrades with these modern digital releases.
