Higher framerates are increasing enemy damage in Vanquish

Higher framerates have been found to increase enemy damage in Vanquish, making the PC version more difficult than the console original.

This means that despite Vanquish’s support for unlocked framerates on PC, the game does not do so without compromises. Little Stone Software, who were in charge of the PC version of Vanquish, will need to work on this issue as it has a huge impact on the game’s difficulty.

Above and below are two identical scenes from Vanquish, which were recorded by NeoGaf user Wesker, showcasing exactly how much framerate affects the damage that is inflicted by enemies.

Below is a comment from Wesker describing this issue.

If you lock the framerate to 30FPS AR mode will activate after 6-7 seconds of taking enemy fire but if you’re playing at a much higher framerate, like 144FPS, it will activate in just 1-2 seconds.

Now that this is a known issue, we can hope that this issue will be patched at a later date. Until then PC players will need to either adjust their game settings to lower their framerate or play the game on lower difficulties in order to minimise this issue.
