Hogwarts Legacy update adds XeSS 2 Frame Generation

Intel’s XeSS Frame Generation technology has arrived in Hogwarts Legacy

As part of the game’s latest update (thanks Dicehunter for the tip), Hogwarts Legacy has gained support for Intel’s XeSS Frame Generation technology. Thanks to this update, users of Intel’s ARC GPUs can benefit from XeSS Super Resolution and Frame Generation. This will help users of ARC GPUs to achieve higher framerates within the game.

Another addition with today’s update is the “Implementation of extended Nvidia frame generation features.” Presumably, this means native support for Nvidia’s DLSS Multi-Frame Generation technology on RTX 50 series graphics cards.

Frame generation can increase the smoothness of games by adding generated frames between traditionally rendered frames. When combined with Super Resolution and latency reduction technologies, Frame Generation can make games look smoother while remaining responsive.

With the addition of XeSS Frame Generation support, there is hope that Avalanche Software has plans to add support for AMD’s FSR 4 upscaling technology in the near future. This would give PC gamers high quality upscaling and frame generation options with AMD, Intel, or Nvidia graphics cards. That would be great news for PC gamers and all Hogwarts Legacy players.
