Mass Effect Andromeda will not have a season pass

It has been confirmed that Mass Effect Andromeda will not have a season pass on PC or on consoles, unlike other recent EA games like Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2.

Season passes allow gamers to buy DLC for a game before the game launches, with the hopes that the season pass will offer more value than each piece of DLC separately.

While this business model can be attractive for consumers, it is something that has increasingly become increasingly anti-consumer, with some developers delivering a lot less DLC than consumers expect or simply do not provide buyers with any information on their planned DLC content when purchasing an expansion pass.

It has also been confirmed that Mass Effect Andromeda will be available to gamers early on both PC and Xbox One for EA/Origin Access, which will allow subscribers to play the game for a “limited time” before launch. Recently Battlefield 1 had a 10-hour free demo for EA/Origin Access subscribers.

Mass Effect Andromeda will be released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on March 21st in the US and March 23rd in the EU. At this time, PC system requirements are not available for the game.
