Microsoft confirms that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II will be coming to PC and Xbox Series X
At the time, we knew that the game’s trailer was comprised of in-engine footage, was created on Unreal Engine 4 and that the game would release on Microsoft’s Xbox Series X console. What Microsoft didn’t confirm, were the title’s PC release plans. Now, Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg, GM of Xbox Games Marketing, has addressed this oversight, confirming the game’s PC release.Â
All Xbox Exclusive titles come to PC these days, and that trend is not due to stop with the release of Xbox Series X. In recent years we have seen Halo, Gears of War, Forza and other popular Xbox franchises arrive on PC, and now it seems clear that when Microsoft says Xbox, they also refer to Windows-powered PCs.Â
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice released initially as an exclusive for PlayStation 4 and PC, though the game eventually found its way to Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Now, Hellblade’s developer, Ninja Theory, is part of Xbox Games Studios, making its IP the property of Microsoft. This makes it unlikely that Hellblade 2 will ever release on PlayStation 5 or other non-Xbox (or PC) hardware.
 Â
On Ninja Theory’s website, the developer states that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is “Created by Ninja Theory in collaboration with our friends at Epic Games and Unreal Engine.” This further confirms the Ninja Theory’s Senua series will continue to utilise Unreal Engine 4.Â
