Modders bring 8-player co-op to Cyberpunk 2077 with “NightCoop”

NightCoop brings co-op multiplayer to Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 has no multiplayer modes. CD Projekt Red originally planned multiplayer, but ultimately cancelled it to focus on other areas. Now, modders have added co-op, letting up to eight people play, fight, and complete the campaign together. The mod is called NightCoop, and it is now available as an Open Beta.

One player acts as a host, and other players can bring their own V’s as guests. Quest progress and the state of Night City belong to the host’s save, and players vote on story decisions. If more than half of players vote for an action, it happens. PVP combat is also available, but only if the host allows it.

All players can interact with Braindance scenes, and special cybernetic abilities, like Sandevistan, will appear properly for all players. In other words, this is a proper co-op mode for Cyberpunk 2077.

So far, this mod has over 110,000 downloads and is free on the mod’s official website. The mod also has an official Discord server, where players can get project updates and troubleshooting tips (if needed).

Right now, the NightCoop mod is available as version 0.1.2 and supports Cyberpunk 2077 versions 2.5 and 2.31.
