Next-gen Battlefield footage leaks

Alpha footage for the next Battlefield game has leaked

Earlier this year, EA confirmed they are working on a new/next-gen Battlefield game. With this reveal came the announcement of Battlefield Labs and Battlefield Studios.

Over the past 24 hours, a lot of footage from EA’s Alpha test has been posted on the franchise’s subreddit. So far, none of this footage has been removed from Reddit, suggesting that EA isn’t actively taking down this footage.

Below is footage of a new multiplayer map and over 15 minutes of gameplay. So far, EA’s new Battlefield game is looking good. That said, it remains to be seen what EA’s next Battlefield game will look like.

EA has previously called its Battlefield Labs tests “test environments” and tests for a specific Battlefield title. As such, these tests do not guarantee that EA’s next Battlefield game will use the same historical setting. However, a modern-era setting would make sense for EA’s next-gen Battlefield game, given the popularity of that setting.

EA’s next Battlefield game will likely be the first in the series to be available exclusively on current-generation console platforms. Battlefield 2042, which launched in 2021, was available on both current and last-generation consoles. EA’s next Battlefield game will likely be exclusive to current-gen hardware, which means that its visuals should be much more advanced.

Even today, Battlefield 1, Battlefield V, Battlefield 4, and Battlefield 2042 all have steady player bases on PC. Clearly, there are a lot of gamers who still love the franchise. However, it remains to be seen if Battlefield Studios has what it takes to return the franchise to its glory days. Regardless, we are happy to see that EA has is taking the development of their next Battlefield game seriously.
