Nvidia’s latest Nvidia App update adds Nvidia’s “latest transformer K model for DLSS”

Nvidia App users can now access more advanced DLSS Super Resolution Override options

As spotted by Videocardz, Nvidia has released a new update for its Nvidia App, allowing GeForce RTX GPU users to access the company’s latest DLSS transformer model for DLSS Super Resolution.

Since the launch of Nvidia’s RTX 50 series, the Nvidia App has had a feature called “DLSS Override”, which allows users to override a game’s integrated DLSS models with Nvidia’s newest AI models. For older DLSS games, this allows Nvidia’s older CNN-based DLSS models to be replaced with the company’s newer DLSS Transformer models. This can enable a significant increase in graphical fidelity.

Nvidia’s DLSS Transformer model arrived with the launch of DLSS 4. It greatly improves Nvidia’s DLSS Super Resolution by increasing detail levels and image stability. Additionally, it reduces ghosting and creates smoother edges. In other words, DLSS’ new transformer models deliver a significant boost in image quality.

Minor Updates

  • This release contains minor fixes and improvements.
  • Updated DLSS Overrides to include the latest transformer K model for DLSS Super Resolution.

Nvidia

With the newest version of the Nvidia App, DLSS Override users can now utilise the company’s new DLSS Transformer K model for DLSS Super Resolution. This should deliver image quality benefits over Nvidia’s prior model. However, Nvidia has not stated what improvements this new version of DLSS delivers.

Over time, we expect Nvidia to continue adding new DLSS models to its software. This will make Nvidia’s DLSS Override feature increasingly important for the company. After all, this feature will allow a huge number of games to benefit from Nvidia’s DLSS advancements, which is great news for Nvidia users.
