Obsidian introduces gamers to its upcoming RPG The Outer Worlds

Next month, Obsidian’s next RPG is due to release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, bringing players to a new universe of possibilities on one of Halcyon’s worlds.

The Outer Worlds is due to release on October 25th, and in the game’s latest trailer perspective players are shown what to expect on the worlds of Monarch and Terra 2. This trailer is formatted like an advertisement for would-be colonists, though it also showcases the humourous tone that Obsidian aims for with this release. The Outer Worlds brings with it a heavy Fallout vibe, though that should be expected from the developers behind Fallout: New Vegas.

Settlers will be kept busy with a variety of potential activities, be it honest work or acts of a less legal nature. Things aren’t going great for the citizens of The Outer Worlds, making it the perfect place for players to either help or profit from this imbalanced society.

Do you dream of working on the frontier of space? Can you pass a basic aptitude test? Then Halcyon is the place for you! Prosperity and adventure awaits on Terra 2, Monarch, and other exciting locations across the Halcyon colony. The character you decide to become will determine how your story on the Halcyon colony unfolds in The Outer Worlds.

The Outer Worlds will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on October 25th. The game is also coming to Nintendo’s Switch console at a later date.
