Open-source project enables Nvidia Reflex and AMD Anti-Lag 2 on any GPU under Linux
“Low_Latency_Layer” project kills gaming lag on Linux with all GPUs – No driver support needed
An open-source project called “Low_Latency_Layer” has been created that implements support for Nvidia Reflex and AMD Anti-Lag 2 in a hardware-agnostic way. This means that AMD, Nvidia, and Intel GPUs can all use these features without official driver support, reducing lag across all games that support them.
Nvidia GPUs could already use Nvidia Reflex on Linux, so nothing has really changed there. However, AMD and Intel GPU users can now benefit from Nvidia Reflex in all supported games on Linux. Given how little support AMD Anti-Lag 2 has, the addition of Nvidia Reflex support is a big deal for AMD GPU users on Linux.
Below are some latency tests across various games. Note how much gaming latency is reduced when Reflex and Anti-Lag 2 are enabled.

In Cyberpunk 2077, latency is significantly reduced. This results in more responsive gameplay, which is great news for a fast-paced game like Cyberpunk 2077. Overall, using Reflex under Linux is more effective than using Anti-Lag 2 in this game.

Honestly, it would be beneficial for gamers everywhere if Microsoft created a standardised Anti-Lag/Reflex alternative for Windows. That way, similar latency benefits could be achieved on Windows without any GPU/hardware-specific software. That way, more games could support anti-lag features across a broad ranger range of GPUs. Right now, Nvidia Reflex is dominant, mostly because Nvidia has a dominant GPU market share. This standardisation would also benefit Linux users, as it creates a singular target and eliminates the need for workarounds like this.
