Over 60% of Cyberpunk 2077 players are on PC
Cyberpunk 2077’s an overwhelming success on PC, with consoles accounting for a minority of the game’s revenue
Despite releasing no new games, 2024 has been a profitable year for the CD Projekt Group. This is thanks to the ongoing success of The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. In their earnings report, the group has confirmed that most of their Cyberpunk 2077 sales were on PC, accounting for the bulk of the company’s revenue.
Last year, 62% of the revenues from Cyberpunk 2077 and its Phantom Liberty DLC came from PCs. PlayStation and Xbox sales revenues trailed behind at 26% and 12%, respectively. This is unsurprising, as CD Projekt Red is a PC-first studio. The company frequently works with Nvidia on its PC game releases. Furthermore, Cyberpunk 2077 has been frequently updated to support the latest PC technologies. These updates include support for (and later upgrades for) raytracing, AI upscaling, and Frame Generation.
CD Projekt isn’t the only game publisher that generates most of its game sales on PC. Capcom revealed that 54% of its game sales came from PC in 2024. The PC platform is incredibly popular, especially for RPG titles.

Moving forward, we expect CD Projekt to continue focusing on PC. After all, the first The Witcher 4 trailer was rendered using an RTX 5090 graphics card. Why would CD Projekt reveal that detail if they weren’t planning further PC collaborations with Nvidia?
