Remedy releases a suspense-filled Story trailer for Control

Remedy’s Control is due to release on August 27th, and you could be forgiven for not knowing what this supernatural third person is all about. Thankfully, Control has received a new “Story” trailer from Remedy and 505 Games, detailing several aspects of the title while revealing very little about the game’s overall plot.

Players will assume the role of Jesse Faden, the new director of a secretive organisation which has been invaded by an otherworldly threat. As the game’s name implies, Director Faden must work to regain “Control” of the agency, forcing her to face incoming threats with a combination of traditional weaponry and supernatural powers of her own.

Control is powered by the Northlight Engine and is set to be the first PC game to make heavy use of raytracing, utilising the feature to deliver a range of new graphical effects. For starters, the game will feature ray-traced reflections, raytraced contact shadows, and ray traced indirect diffuse lighting, all thanks to the power of Microsoft’s DXR API for DirectX 12 and Nvidia’s RTX series of graphics cards.

Below is Remedy’s “Story” trailer for Control.

Those who are interested in seeing Gameplay for Control can have a look at the video below, which showcases eight minutes of 4K footage from one of Control’s story missions. This mission is from the game’s “Black Rock Quarry” level.

At this time it is unknown which version of the game is being shown. We would presume that this footage is from the PC version of control.

Control is due to release on PC on August 27th on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The game will release on PC as an Epic Games Store exclusive and currently ships as a bundled title with Nvidia’s RTX series graphics cards.
