The Day Before servers will shut down next month
The Day Before’s servers are going offline next month – Grab a refund while you can
The launch of The Day Before was a disaster, so much so that the game’s developer Fntastic had to close its doors mere days later. Now, the company has confirmed that The Day Before’s servers will be shutting down on January 22nd 2024, one month from today.
What was once Steam’s most wishlisted game will have been launched and shut down in less than two months. In fact, the game will have only been online for 48 days when it shuts down. That less time than Liz Truss was the UK’s Prime Minister, and she was a famously short serving PM.
Below is Fntastic’s statement about the game’s planned shutdown. Mytona, one of the game’s investors, has confirmed that they have been working with Steam to offer all players refunds. That means that everyone who bought the game on Steam will be able to get a refund.

In previous statements, Fntastic stressed that they have taken no public money during the development of The Day Before. There was no Kickstarter campaign, pre-orders or crowdfunding of any kind. While a lot of people have claimed that TDB is a âscamâ, the more likely scenario is that Fntastic were out of their depth and were unable to deliver on their vision.
