The entire Kerbal Space Program 2 team is being laid off next month

The Intercept Games team is getting laid off next month, potentially ending Kerbal Space Program 2’s development

Kerbal Space Program 2’s design manager, Quinn Duffy, has posted on LinkedIn to confirm that the Intercept Games team is due to be laid off on June 28th. This is despite claims from Take Two Interactive’s  managing director, Strauss Zelnick, repeatedly stating that the studio wasn’t being closed.

Currently, it is unknown if Kerbal Space Program 2’s development will be able to continue following Intercept Games’ layoffs. The game could be moved to another studio, though it’s more likely that the game’s development will end. Currently, the game is available on PC through Steam Early Access.

In response to this news, players of KPS2 have posted negative reviews on Steam to vent their frustration. The game’s Early Access players deserve better than this, and so do Intercept Games and their staff. At a minimum, KSP2’s players deserve to know what the future of the game will be.

We wish the Intercept Games team the best of luck as they search for new jobs. We also hope that you future employers will treat your better than Take-Two has
