The Skaven and Lizardmen receive some extra umph in Total War: Warhammer II's The Prophet and The Warlock DLC

The Skaven and Lizardmen receive some extra umph in Total War: Warhammer II’s Latest DLC

When Total War: Warhammer II launched, fans of Warhammer Fantasy were left with one big question. Where is Clan Skryre? Yes, Total War: Warhammer II released without what is arguably the Skaven’s most interesting and well-known clans.

In Total War: Warhammer II’s upcoming The Prophet and the Warlock DLC, Clan Skryre will be added to the game under the Legendary Lord Ikit Claw, the Chief Warlock Engineer.

Clan Skryre is known for its experimental weaponry, and as such their addition to Total War: Warhammer II will bring with it upgrades to existing units like the Doomwheel and powerful stat boosts that are only available through Skryre’s Forbidden Workshop, which grants the clan access to unique units of renown and stat boosting unit upgrades. Clan Skryre also gains access to the Doomsphere, a giant warpstone bomb that can be used to destroy settlements.

In addition to these perks, Clan Skrye also has access to unique units like the Ratling Gun Weapons Team, Warpstone Jezzails (sniper infantry) and Doom-Flayers, a smaller, messier version of the Doomwheel. More details about Clan Skryre will be released as we get closer to the DLC’s launch.

To counter the addition of Skaven’s Clan Skryre, the Lizardmen are gaining a new playable faction in the form of the Cult of Sotek, which has access to unique abilities that are not available to the main Lizardmen Legendary Lords.

After plagues devastated Lustria as a result of Clan Pestilence’s actions, Tehenhauin, a Red Crested Skink became the Prophet of Sotek, resulting in tremendous growth for the Cult of Sotek, counterattacking the Skaven’s advances on the continent with hopes of bringing their serpent god to the material world.

With this faction comes a unique legendary lord type called the Red Crested Skink, melee-focused Lords that have a unique skill tree. In addition to this, Tehenauin is able to evoke Sotek himself, manifesting an aspect of the god on the battlefield, resulting in devastating damage to his opponents.

With this DLC, Total War Warhammer’s Skaven and Lizardmen races are getting some much-needed love, generating totally new ways to play the game with unique mechanics and units for both of the DLC’s new factions.

The Prophet & The Warlock will release on April 17th and is currently available for pre-order on Steam for £6.29. After launch, the DLC will cost £6.99 in the UK.
