Upscaling required? – Star Wars Outlaws PC requirements want you to turn DLSS on

Set upscalers to on! Star Wars Outlaws’ PC requirements ask for upscaling at all resolutions

Ubisoft has released their PC system requirements for Star Wars Outlaws, and they are high. SSD storage is mandatory, as is 16GB of memory, and strong 6-core CPU. That’s just for 1080p 30 FPS gameplay! This game gets more demanding if you push for higher resolutions or refresh rates.

Ubisoft has released Minimum, Recommended, High, and Ultra system requirements for Star Wars Outlaws. All four of these levels recommend setting upscaling to “Quality”. Ubisoft does not intend for this game’s PC version to run at your screen’s “native” resolution. This artificially lowers this game’s GPU requirements at all levels, so bear this in mind if you dislike using FSR, DLSS, or XeSS.

On PC, Outlaws will also support high-end ray tracing settings with Nvidia RTX Direct Illumination (RTXDI) lighting. The game also supports Nvidia’s DLSS 3.5 technology. That means that this game supports DLSS Super Resolution, Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction, and Nvidia Reflex. As such, gamers should expect this game to run best on Nvidia RTX hardware, especially at maxed out settings.

For 1080p 60 FPS gameplay, Ubisoft recommends GPUs like AMD’s Radeon RX 6700 XT and Nvidia’s RTX 3060 Ti. This is with upscalers set to “quality”, which means that native 1080p 60 FPS gameplay likely requires higher-end GPUs.

Star Wars Outlaws will be available on PC on August 30th. However, the game will be available three days early to Gold Edition or Ultimate Edition buyers. Alternatively, the game will also be available early to Ubisoft+ subscribers.
