Crucial’s 2TB PCIe 4.0 P5 Plus SSD has dropped to £107 in the UK

SSD storage is a must for all modern PCs, especially for those who game regularly. More and more games and software packages are now recommending SSD storage as a minimum requirement, and all current-generation consoles make use of solid state storage mediums. For the most part, the world has moved away from hard disk drives, and now is the era of SSDs.

Today, Crucial’s 2TB P5 Plus SSD model has become available in the UK for under £107, and its 1TB model is available for £57. This SSD is a PCIe 4.0 storage solution that is PlayStation 5 compatible (if a heatsink is installed), and offers PC users sequential read speeds of up to 6,600 MB/s. That’s a great price for SSDs of these speeds and capacities, and more than fast enough for all modern use cases.

One of the primary benefit so of SSD storage is its ability to deliver faster loading times, allowing gamers to get into their games faster and for loading screens within games to be minimised. SSDs allow gamers to spend less time waiting and more time gaming. As SSD adoption increases, SSDs will become important during gameplay as well, as slower storage mediums could lead to in-game stutter and other performance issues if games start to rely on SSD-level loading speeds during gameplay.

At today’s prices, Crucial’s 1TB and 2TB P5 PLUS SSDs are bargains, both for PlayStation 5 storage upgrades and as PC SSDs.
