ADATA XPG shows off its fastest SSD tech at CES 2026
ADATA XPG showcases PCIe 5.0 excellence at CES 2025
ADATA XPG has showcased its fastest storage solutions at CES 2026, with PCIe 5.0 performance demonstrated across the company’s MARS SSD lineup. All models features sequential write speeds above 10,000 MB/s, with their fastest models reaching 14,000 MB/s.
The MARS 980 PRO and MARS 980 Blade models are now available with 8 TB SSDs. At launch, both drives are available in capacities up to 4 TB. That’s a doubling of the series’ maximum drive capacities.
The MARS 980 PRO and Blade feature identical specifications, though the PRO model ships with an aluminium heatsink and fan. ADATA claims this model has approximately 15% lower thermals than its thinner Blade model. Despite its increased size, this model remains compatible with Sony’s PlayStation 5 console.
The 980 BLADE ships with a thin aluminium heatsink. The more compact design of this model gives it broader compatibility with desktop PCs, laptops, and other devices.
ADATA XPG MARS 970 PLUS
With the MARS 970 PLUS, users get lower sequential read/write speeds than the 980 series. Sequential read and write speeds reach 11,000 MB/s/10,000 MB/s. Additionally, the maximum capacity version of this model is 4TB, not 8TB.
Overall, this SSD remains exceptionally fast, well exceeding the limits of the PCIe 4.0 standard. This SSD model consumes less power than a 980-series SSD models, reducing the need for SSD cooling. Regardless, this SSD ships with a thin aluminium heatsink, providing enhanced thermal performance compared with “bare drive” SSDs while retaining broad hardware compatibility.
