Apacer releases their AS2280P2 NVMe SSD for the mid-range market

Apacer has unveiled their new AS2280P2 series of NVMe SSDs, which are designed to offer a balance between SATA and high-end NVMe performance at a low price tag.

Like the name suggests, the AS2280P2 SSD ships in the standard M.2-2280 (22mm wide, 80mm long) form factor, using 3D TLC NAND and a PCIe Gen 3 x2 interface to offer high-performance levels with minimal cost.

The AS2280P2 will ship with three capacities, with 120GB at the bottom of the lineup, a 240GB model for the mid-range and a 480GB model for the high-end. Each model will be covered by a three-year warranty, with higher-end models shipping with faster sequential read/write speeds.

Apacer releases their AS2290P2 NVMe SSD for the mid-range market

2018 is the year where NVMe SSDs are set to become more affordable, with a recent influx of high-end offerings alongside a range of new mid-range SSDs like the AS2280P2. This increased competition in the SSD market will hopefully drive some price cuts in the NVMe space, giving more PC builders access to high-end performance without breaking the bank.
