Corsair delivers next level SSD performance with their MP700 PRO SE

With 14,000 MB/s sequential read speeds, the MP700 PRO SE is Corsair’s fastest PCIe 5.0 SSD to date

Corsair have just unveiled their new SSD flagship, the MP700 PRO SE. This new PCIe 5.0 SSD achieves sequential read speeds of up to 14,000MB/s and sequential write speeds up to 12,000MB/s, doubling the performance of the fastest PCIe 4.0 drives.

With 2TB and 4TB models, these new SSDs from Corsair promise to give users huge levels of storage potential and speeds that will accelerate all loading times. Moving large files will be a breeze, as will loading the latest games and applications. However, it should be noted that you will need a PCIe 5.0 PC to see this SSD running at its fastest.

Corsair has confirmed that their new SSD features native support for Microsoft DirectStorage, and full backwards compatibility with PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 3.0 motherboards. While speeds will be limited on older PCIe standards, this drive’s PCIe 5.0 support will provide users with a clear upgrade path. As the next generation of CPUs and motherboards approach, we can expect PCIe 5.o to become a lot more common.

Three Corsair MP700 PRO SE models

Corsair’s MP700 PRO SE is an SSD that is available in three flavours. First there is the bare drive model, which doesn’t ship with a heatsink. Secondly there is the air cooled model. Finally, there is a liquid cooled model for those who want the coolest running storage solution.

All Corsair MP700 SSDs are compatible with the free Corsair SSD Toolbox software. This tool allows users to install firmware updates with ease. Furthermore, this software also offers users features like secure erase and SSD monitoring capabilities. This new SSD from Corsair is backed with a five-year warranty, which is a long warranty for an SSD.

The standard Corsair MP700 PRO SE is available starting today from Corsair’s website. However, the air-cooled version of this SSD will be releasing in June.
