Corsair launches their MP700 Elite PCIe 5.0 SSD

Corsair pushes PCIe 5.0 performance into the mainstream with their MP700 Elite SSD

Corsair has today launched its new MP700 Elite SSD, aiming to capture the mainstream PCIe 5.0 market with high SSD performance at a relatively low price point.

With sequential read/write speeds of 10,000 MB/s and 8,500 MB/s, this drive delivers incredible levels of storage performance. While slower than Corsair’s flagship MP700 PRO SSD, it delivers a massive leap in performance over older PCIe 3.0 and 4.0 solid state drives.

This new PCIe 5.0 SSD is available with or without a heatsink, allowing users to choose the model that is best for them. Do you want to use your motherboard’s M.2 slot cooling solutions or Corsair’s heatsink design? Either way, Corsair’s Elite SSD series gives you options.

Corsair’s new PCIe 5.0 Elite series SSD uses 3D TLC NAND and supports Microsoft’s DirectStorage technology. The drive itself is available in 1TB and 2TB forms and is backwards compatible with PCIe 4.0 and 3.0 systems.

On Corsair’s website, the 1TB and 2TB versions of this SSD cost £134.99 and £239.99, respectively. That’s a lot less than this drive’s PRO series counterparts.
