Corsair’s PS5-optimised MP600 PRO SSD now has a white version

Corsair’s premiere PCIe 4.0 SSD, the MP600 PRO LPX has just received a makeover. On Amazon US, a new white 4TB model of Corsair’s PlayStation 5 compatible MP600 PRO LPX has been revealed, and it is likely that 1TB and 2TB models are also coming.

While its specifications are the same as the SSD’s existing black model, Corsair’s new White LPX SSD design turns Corsair’s fast PCIe 4.0 SSD into a more visually appealing piece of hardware. For PC builders who want to create an all-white system, Corsair’s MP600 PRO LPX White SSD may be your new go-top SSD, offering users incredibly fast storage speeds and a striking design.

The 4TB model of this PCIe 4.0 MP600 PRO LPX SSD, Corsair advertises sequential read speeds of up to 7,100 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 6,800 MB/s. This places Corsair’s new PCIe 4.0 SSD amongst the fastest PCIe 4.0 drives available, and while PCIe 5.0 SSDs are starting to come to market, they are arriving at premium prices at a time when most people are tightening their budgets.

With most Intel 700-series Raptor Lake compatible motherboards lacking PCIe 5.0 M.2 slots, PCIe 4.0 SSDs will remain the mainstay for most PC builders until a new generation of hardware comes along. While AMD’s AM5 platform offers more widespread support for PCIe 5.0 storage, most PC builders are better off investing in a faster kit of DDR5 memory (with tight CL timings) than they are investing in hyper-fast storage. Unless your chosen workload is storage-heavy, PCIe 4.0 SSDs remains where value is at in the performance-oriented side of the PC market.
