At AMazin UK, Crucial’s BX500 is available for some incredible prices at its 1TB and 2TB capacities, offering users pricing of around 8p per GB. Right now, these drives are available for £79.99 for the BX500’s 1TB model, and £159.99 for the drive’s 2TB model. That’s cheap, especially for a Crucial drive.

SSD storage is a must these days for PC builders, offering users fast system/application boot times alongside lower power draw and reduced system noise. In every practical sense, solid-state storage is better than mechanical storage, at least when it comes to the consumer market.

NVMe SSDs are popular on the high-end, but when it comes to price/capacity, SATA is often king. Beyond that, most PCs have a limited number of M.2 slots, limiting the number of NVMe SSDs that can be connected at once. This means that most systems could still benefit from a fast SATA drive, either as an affordable boot drive, or as a secondary storage medium.

With modern AAA games taking up over 100GB of storage, it is easy to see why large 1TB and 2TB SSDs are in high demand, especially when the next generation of games consoles calls for SSD-grade storage. HDDs may be considered slow today, but soon they may not even be considered viable for gaming.
