Gigabyte pushes their SSD performance to new heights with their AORUS Gen5 14000 SSD

Gigabyte delivers top-tier SSD performance with their new AORUS Gen5 14000 drives

Gigabyte have launched their new AORUS Gen5 14000 series of SSDs, using Phison’s top SSD controller and optimised 232-layer TLC NAND to deliver sequential read speed up to 14,500 MB/s and sequential write speed up to 12,700 MB/s.

With this new drive, Gigabyte has uses Phison’s 12nm PS5026-E26 SSD controller with a DDR4 cache. This gives Gigabyte’s new PCIe 5.0 Aorus SSD optimised support for Direct Storage. Additionally, Gigabyte has stated that their M.2 heatsinks on their X670E AORUS PRO X, Z790 AORUS MASTER X and other PCIe 5.0 motherboards are “highly recommended”. In other words, the stock M.2 heatsinks on Gigabyte’s motherboards are more than enough to keep this SSD cool under load. However, this SSD should always be used with a heatsink.

Like all PCIe 5.0 SSDs, users will need a PCIe 5.0 motherboard to run this SSD at its rated speeds.

This new PCIe 5.0 SSD will be available in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB forms. Additionally, this drive will also ship with a 5-year manufacturers warranty. Sadly, Gigabtye has not released pricing or availability information for these new SSDs.
