Samsung’s 990 EVO PLUS has arrived, and it features a HUGE speed boost

Samsung’s newest 990 series SSD is now available to purchase

Samsung’s 990 EVO PLUS SSD is now available, delivering a considerable performance boost to Samsung’s 990 EVO series of hybrid PCIe 4.0 and 5.0 SSDs. This new SSD is powered by Samsung’s latest 3D V-NAND and a new 5nm SSD controller.

With sequential read speeds up to 7,250 MB/s and write speeds up to 6,300 MB/s, this new series of SSDs is up to 50% faster than the standard 990 EVO. It also boasts boosted random read/write speeds of 1,050K IOPS and 1,400K IOPS respectively. Samsung has also promised reduced lag and higher file transfer speeds thanks to their TurboWrite 2.0 technology.

Samsung 990 EVO PLUS SSD Pricing

Like its predecessor, Samsung’s new EVO Plus SSD features PCIe 4.0 x4 and 5.0 x2 support. The drive will also be available in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB forms. These drives will be available with MSRP prices of $109.99 for the 1TB model, $184.99 for the 2TB model, and $344.99 for the 4TB model.
