SanDisk has announced a 400GB microSDXC card

The Western Digital Corporation had revealed their 400GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card, the largest commercially available microSD card in the world.

This means that SanDisk has been able to double the capacity of their MicroSD cards in just two years, thanks to their unique manufacturing technology that has allowed them to fit more bits into a single memory die. This has allowed the company to fit almost half a terabyte of data into a form factor that is the size of a finger tip.

With this SD card complying with the UHS-I standard, it can offer transfer speeds of up to 100MB/s, with this drive’s 400GB capacity allowing users to store up to 40 hours of Full-HD video on their mobile devices.

Sandisk will be backing this product up with a ten-year limited warranty and will be available from SanDisk directly or from major retailers, shipping with an MSRP of $249.99.
