Storage Insanity – Highpoint pushes storage density to the limit with their RocketAIC 6542AAW
Highpoint delivers almost half a Petabyte of storage into their newest shoebox-sized SSD raid enclosures
Highpoint is pushing the limits of storage density with their new RocketAIC 6542AAW NVMe SSD raid drive solution, packing almost half a Petabyte of data into their compact SSD enclosure.
With eight Solidigm D5-P5336 NVMe SSDs, this compact enclosure has 491.52TB of storage potential. With 28GB/s of real-world transfer potential, users have fast access to the data within this setup. Thanks to its PCIe and 400Gbps connectivity options, users have several ways to access the raw speed of this SSD enclosure. Not bad for a device that measures 122.94 x 234.95 x 210.06mm.
While this storage solution is available from Highpoint pre-filled with nearly 500TB of storage, drive-free versions of this enclosure are available. First, there is the RocketStor 6542AW 8-Bay PCIe 4.0 x16 External NVMe Storage Enclosure. For less storage-intensive setups, there is the RocketStor 6541AW 4-Bay PCIe 4.0 External NVMe Storage Enclosure. These enclosures are available at MSRP prices of $1,799 and $1,299, respectively.

For the pre-filled RocketAIC 6542AAW, users will need to pay $78,999. Given the capacity and premium nature of the datacenter-grade SSDs inside, this pricing isn’t as mad as you’d think.
