ASUS releases Beta BIOS updates for stuttering ROG laptops

ASUS has isolated the cause of stuttering and other issues on older ROG laptops

ASUS has confirmed that it has “isolated the issue” that has caused “stuttering and performance interruptions” on some of its ROG laptops. BIOS updates for all affected ASUS ROG laptops are in the works, with early beta BIOS releases coming for 2023 SCAR 15 and Zephyrus M16 models this week.

ASUS plans to release BIOS updates for all affected ROG laptop models in waves. The first update scheduled for early October.

ASUS has confirmed that using its beta BIOS updates for its ROG laptops will not void their warranty.

Concerned users of ASUS laptops will be glad to know that updates are coming. However, the fact that this issue had gone unnoticed for so long implies that these “stuttering and performance interruptions” are minor in scope. Regardless, the issue is real, and ASUS has taken steps to address it.

Now, a plan is in place to roll out updates to all affected users. Beta updates are now available for some users. Finalised updates will be rolled out over the coming weeks.
